Yay! Our first blog post for Village Baby is up!
We’re Alexis, Kelli, and Meggie, and it’s so nice to meet you!
We started Village Baby to put our creative inclinations to work and make high quality, beautiful baby goods. We know there are lots of baby shops out there, but we’re happy you’re visiting ours and hope you enjoy your stay!
Our Swaddles:
Our swaddles are quite literally the softest. We have made them with light stretchy knit and they are well loved by both moms and babies. They wrap baby up tight so she or he will feel secure, but also still wiggle and not feel too constricted.
The fabric is light enough for warm weather use and won’t overheat baby. The swaddles also wash up well and double as a nursing and carseat cover! (It’s so nice to only have to pack one in your already stuffed baby bag.)
Village Love:
We have each had struggles and difficulties as new (and repeat) moms. If you’re having an especially rough day as a mom, we feel for you. One of the best “side effects” of working on this company together have been all of the late-night talks about how difficult being a mom and parent can be – breastfeeding can be a beast, night after night of colicky babies and little sleep can wear you down, and sometimes motherhood is a lonely road.
But it doesn’t have to be. We believe in the power of “the village” and finding your tribe to vent to, confide in, and be a support to lean on. Moms need moms! We hope we can be a small part of your village and help make this tough and wonderful time a little softer, brighter, and more sweet.
It takes a village to raise a child (and a mom). Thank you for letting us be part of your village!
